How to use Calorie Tracker
Calorie Tracker is a free web app for logging your daily food intake and tracking calories and macros. Follow these four steps to get started.
Step 1: Create an account or log in
Go to the homepage and click Start free to register with your email, or sign in with Google. If you already have an account, click Already have an account? to go straight to the login page.
Step 2: Check your trends on the dashboard
After logging in you land on the dashboard. This shows your calorie and macro totals for today, your recent daily trend, and your progress toward your goals. Use the trend chart to spot patterns over time — for example whether you are consistently over or under your target.
Step 3: Track your calories and macros in the diary
Open the Diary page to log what you eat and drink. Select the date, choose a meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snacks), then search for a food and enter the amount. Add every item including drinks, cooking oils, sauces, and toppings — small additions add up. Your daily totals update as you log each entry.
Step 4: Set your goals and preferences in settings
Open Settings to enter your calorie and macro targets. You can type them in directly or use the built-in goal calculator. Set your preferred units (metric or imperial, kcal or kJ) and adjust your profile details. Click Save Settings to apply your changes.
Tips
- Log daily rather than occasionally so your trend data is meaningful.
- Weigh portions in grams for consistent accuracy.
- Check food labels for the per-100g values and match your logged amount to the actual weight eaten.
